The mayor’s decision to prevent all citizens from leaving Birka had become final. Guards were hired to protect the gates and to keep everyone inside. Only the specially trained were allowed to roam the outskirts of town, and those few never dared to venture out more than fifty feet. The monsters’ breaths were warming the air, and all the townsfolk could feel it. That’s when the decree was set to relocate.

Frazz: Many of us began relocating to the lower chambers of town in a cavern where we prepared a war bunker in case madness ever struck. But the environment was uncomfortable, since those who went down were very edgy. Centaurus and I were a couple of the ones who went below, but we didn’t want to stay. Something about the caverns left us feeling very nervous. We decided it would be better to live above ground.
